Item 4 finished 7 to 7. The tie was broken toward exploring, which sends it here. This page settles which proposal goes to the floor. It does not change any rule.
The seven managers who voted to explore: Brion, Chris, Drew, Eric, Kyle, Spencer, Trevor. You are writing the first draft, not making the decision. Whatever wins here goes to all fourteen for a straight up or down vote, and if it cannot win a majority, nothing changes for 2026.
Every other slot on your roster rewards work. You study usage, you track targets, you win because you were right. The defense slot does none of that. Its points come from turnovers, return touchdowns, and how badly somebody else's offense plays. It swings ten or more points on a Sunday with nothing you did either way.
The fair counter, answered: yes, we take defenses about 0.7 rounds earlier than kickers, and that has held for twelve straight seasons. That is habit, not conviction. Both get taken in the last three rounds 81% of the time. The question is not which one we like slightly better at the draft table. It is which one decides more games we did not earn, and only one of the two hands out points for a fumble bouncing the right way.
My recommendation: remove Defense, keep the kicker, and set rosters at 13 plus IR. Removing a starting spot without shrinking the roster hands everyone a free bench spot nobody voted for, which quietly dries up the waiver wire in a fourteen-team league. I would rather make the one clean trade.
One more practical argument for the modest version: a proposal to remove both positions has to win a majority of all fourteen, and six of them just voted to change nothing at all. Defense only is the version that can actually pass.
Rank all three. Whichever wins on ranked choice becomes the single motion sent to all fourteen. Seven voters and three options means there cannot be a tie.
This device has already submitted a caucus ballot.
If that was a mistake or you need to change your ranking, tell Trevor and he will clear it.
Thanks. Once all seven are in, the winning option becomes the motion and goes to all fourteen for the deciding vote.
